This piece of jewelery is an old amulet from around the 1880s. The pendant is decorated with many pearls and complemented with a pearl necklace. The pendant has been further adorned with an outstanding painting depicting an angel playing the flute on a nest of roses.
The pendant is made of 18k yellow gold and the clasp of the pearl necklace is made of 8k (333/-.) yellow and white gold.
The pendant was very elaborately worked, not only because of the flower-shaped structures and the pearl trimming. The upper loop of the pendant, which is the interface to the pearl necklace, is removable. So the pendant or the amulet can be worn better as a pure brooch, for which a brooch was attached on the back.
The pendant has a small hidden compartment with a window on the back, which allows its wearer to fortify themselves with pictures, lucky charms and loved ones.
The playing of the angel should protect its wearer and accompany him on his journey. This amulet is a special rarity, which is not only visually appealing, but also shows a special intangible value.
The pendant weighs 18.86 grams and the pearl necklace weighs 4.27 grams and is 44.5 cm long.
