An elegant, handcrafted pendant made of 14 karat (585) yellow gold, crafted with high-quality goldsmith work from Augsburg. The setting is robust and solid, yet it feels pleasantly light and open. Particularly beautiful is the partial bezel setting, which securely holds the Australian opal but does not completely encase it in gold. This allows the stone to remain visibly free and creates an almost floating effect.
The movable eyelet is harmoniously connected to the pendant and ensures a beautiful, lively play when worn. The elegant teardrop shape of the pendant ideally picks up the natural shape of the opal and gives the piece of jewelry a soft, flowing charisma.
At the center is a special Australian Boulder Opal, embedded in its natural matrix. The host rock shows a beautifully banded red-brown play of color, which forms a warm, earthy stage for the central opal window. A navette to teardrop-shaped opal window lies in the middle of the rock and makes the stone a true unique piece. It shows a lively, intense opalescence in green to blue tones, which appears particularly dominant and expressive against the darker matrix.
The combination of the natural boulder opal, the warm red-brown of the host rock, and the bright yellow gold gives the pendant an ideally harmonious color effect. With 36.2 × 21.7 mm, the piece of jewelry has an effective but not obtrusive size. The weight of 8.39 grams underlines the solid, valuable, and robust workmanship.
Optionally, a matching snake chain in 8 carat (333) yellow gold is available. It is color-wise and structurally very harmonious with the pendant, measures 42 cm, is 1.25 mm thick and wide, weighs 5.16 grams and closes with a carabiner clasp.
